The Perfect Side Hustle for Greater Manchester

Looking for flexible extra income in Manchester? Our Hunter programme is ideal for anyone seeking a genuine side hustle with real earning potential. Whether you live in Didsbury, Chorlton, Sale, Altrincham, Hale, Stockport, Salford, or anywhere across Greater Manchester, you can start earning £50 per successful business referral.

No experience needed. No sales pressure. Completely flexible hours. This is the perfect gig for students, parents, part-time workers, or anyone wanting to make extra money in their spare time. Work around your existing commitments - evenings, weekends, or whenever suits you.

It's straightforward: connect local business owners with AroundManchester.com™, arrange an introduction meeting, and get paid when they join the directory. That's it. You're not selling anything - you're simply making valuable connections in your local Manchester community.

What is a Hunter?

Hunters are our network of referral partners who help connect local businesses with AroundManchester.com™ across Greater Manchester and the North West. If you know business owners in your area, you can earn money by introducing them to our directory.

Just get started! You don't need our permission to begin talking to local business owners. Start conversations in your area today – chat with the caf? owner, the barber, the shop keeper. Once they express interest, email us through the contact form and we'll add them to the next local group session.

We organize group sessions in your local area. Instead of individual meetings, we wait until we have several interested businesses in the same neighborhood (e.g., Hale, Didsbury, Chorlton), then invite them all to one group presentation session. You attend, introduce yourself, and pair yourself with each business you brought. After the group session, businesses can ask individual questions if needed. If they sign up, you get paid once their listing goes live. It's that simple – minimal travel, maximum efficiency.

What Types of Businesses Should You Look For?

Focus on businesses in your immediate local area – places you walk past, visit regularly, or know the owners. Here are typical local businesses we're looking for:

  • Restaurants & Cafés
  • Takeaways & Fast Food
  • Pubs & Bars
  • Coffee Shops
  • Bakeries & Delis
  • Hairdressers & Barbers
  • Beauty Salons & Spas
  • Nail Salons
  • Tattoo & Piercing Studios
  • Gyms & Fitness Studios
  • Yoga & Pilates Studios
  • Sports Clubs & Facilities
  • Butchers & Fishmongers
  • Greengrocers & Farm Shops
  • Convenience Stores
  • Off Licences
  • Pet Shops & Groomers
  • Vets & Pet Services
  • Florists & Garden Centres
  • Hardware Stores
  • Gift Shops & Boutiques
  • Clothing & Fashion Retailers
  • Charity Shops
  • Bookshops
  • Newsagents
  • Dry Cleaners & Launderettes
  • Car Washes & Valeting
  • Garages & Auto Repair
  • Solicitors & Legal Services
  • Accountants & Financial Advisors

  • Opticians
  • Pharmacies
  • Plumbers & Electricians
  • Builders & Decorators
  • Locksmiths

Start with businesses you already know. The best referrals come from genuine connections – places you visit, owners you chat with, services you use. You're already part of your local community; now you can earn from those connections.

How It Works

  1. Just Get Started

No application needed to begin! Start talking to local business owners in your immediate area today. Once they express interest, email us through the contact form with their details.

  2. We Organize Group Sessions

We wait until we have several interested businesses in the same local area, then schedule one group presentation session. All businesses attend at the same time in one location. For example: five businesses from Hale all attend together at 7pm for a 20-minute group presentation. This reduces travel time and speeds up onboarding for everyone.

  3. Attend the Local Group Session

You attend the scheduled group session in your local area. This is where you pair yourself with each business you introduced. We handle the group presentation – you're just there to confirm the introductions and provide your payment details if businesses sign up.

  4. Individual Follow-Up (If Needed)

After the group session, any business owner can ask individual questions if needed. We handle these brief one-on-one follow-ups. If they agree to join the directory, we capture your details (name, contact, and bank information). You'll need your National Insurance card and valid Passport or legal ID for verification.

  5. Get Paid

Once the business listing goes live on the directory, your bounty is paid directly to your UK bank account via bank transfer. Simple as that!

Why group sessions? By presenting to multiple businesses at once in the same local area, we minimize travel for everyone, speed up the process, and make it easy for you to attend. You might have 3-5 businesses all in the same room for 20 minutes. Much more efficient than individual appointments spread across different days!

How Much Can You Earn?

Bounty rates:

Regardless of growth phase, all Hunters earn a flat rate of £50 per successful business referral once the business listing goes live on the directory.

  • Maximum Payout: £50 per business (flat rate – no additional bonus for second venues or add-ons)
  • Payment Method: UK bank transfer only - paid directly to your account
  • Payment Timing: Paid once the listing goes live on the directory
  • Referral Limit: Unlimited – there's no cap on how many businesses you can refer

Realistic Earning Potential

Important Disclaimer: The following figures are estimates based on realistic performance levels. Actual earnings will vary significantly based on individual effort, local market conditions, business density in your area, and other factors. These are potential earnings only and are not guaranteed.

Our realistic benchmark is 5 referrals per week. Here's what that looks like at different activity levels:

  • Starting Out (2 referrals/week): 2 × £50 = £100/week = £430/month
  • Realistic Performance (5 referrals/week): 5 × £50 = £250/week = £1,075/month
  • High Performer (10 referrals/week): 10 × £50 = £500/week = £2,150/month

This is a genuine income opportunity, not just pocket money. Consistent Hunters hitting realistic rates can earn £1,000+/month. Work as much or as little as you like - it's completely flexible around your schedule, but the more you refer, the more you earn.

Earnings Disclaimer: All earnings figures are estimates based on hypothetical performance scenarios. Your actual earnings may be higher or lower depending on the number of successful referrals you make, local market conditions, business owner response rates, and your individual effort. Past performance or projected earnings do not guarantee future results. You are responsible for your own success as an independent referral partner.

Career Progression - From Hunter to Agent to Full-Time Employment

This isn't just a side hustle - it's a genuine career pathway. High-performing Hunters who consistently bring in referrals are actively recruited to become contracted Agents, earning significantly more through 20% commission instead of flat bounties. Top-performing Agents may then be offered full-time employment with salary and benefits.

The Three-Stage Career Path

  1. Hunter (You are here) - Flexible side hustle earning £50 flat bounties per referral. No contract, no commitment, complete flexibility.
  2. Agent - High-earning Hunters are offered external contractor agreements with exclusive district rights. Earn 20% commission on all sales (double to triple your earning potential). Still flexible, but with more territory control and higher income.
  3. Full-Time Employment - Top-performing Agents may be offered salaried positions with benefits, job security, and career advancement within AroundManchester.com™.

How to progress: Demonstrate consistent performance as a Hunter by regularly bringing in quality referrals. We actively monitor Hunter performance and reach out to the best performers with Agent contract offers. Excel as an Agent, and you could transition to a permanent salaried role with full benefits.
